Policies and Procedures

Enrollment is limited to 35 families. Order of enrollment is existing members, EFCW church attendees,  and general public.

  • To Enroll a home school family must have at least one child three years of age or older and pay a registration fee.

  • Attendance requirements dictate if enrolled family does not participate in any event, meeting, class or club for two months, and there is a waiting list for enrollment, the Board has the authority to review and revoke enrollment status, but only after contacting and interviewing said inactive family.

Registration Fee of $25.00 per family is required to cover administration costs, use of building, and to underwrite the cost of events. Registration will be due mid-August at the Registration picnic. Members bringing children from outside their immediate family may register additional children for $10.00. Make checks out to Rainbow's End.

The Board will oversee all events and work to resolve conflict within the group. Changes to policy or event and MNO format will be made by a board consenses. The Evangelical Church of Wauconda pastors and church ministry director have the authority to remove any board member due to misconduct or rejection of statement of faith.

  • Minimum one member will maintain church membership at the Evangelical Free Church of Wauconda and act as a liaison with a church ministry director.

  • Positions on the Board consist of Administrator, Treasurer, Web Support, MNO Coordinator, Event Coordinator. Each member of the board may hold one or more positions.

  • Board Member Candidates are interviewed, reviewed, and accepted by the existing Board.



Monthly Events for members will be scheduled from September to May. Events scheduled will be based on popular demand, determined be surveys distributed at the end of May.

  • Monthly events will take place on the third Wednesday morning of each month.

  • Deviation from this date and time can be approved by the Board only if necessary to schedule a specific event or speaker.

  • Sign-up for events is required for head count. Participants must sign up for the monthly events at the Monthly Night Out (MNO) or by contacting a Board member by email or phone. The cut-off date for a monthly event sign up is the prior MNO. For example you must sign up for the September event by the September MNO to be included in the headcount.

Fees for each monthly event shall not exceed $6.00 per person. The cut-off date to pay fees is the MNO prior to the event.

  • Checks should be made out to Rainbow's End.

  • Funds paid will not be reimbursed.

Monthly Events not held at church will have directions posted on the Rainbow's End web site and directions will be available at MNO's in the binder for sign-up. You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the event.

Church Facility Events need to find the building in better condition than we found it. Members should report property damage or damaging behavior to a Board member immediately.

  • Enter the church building at the south entrance (back lower level of the building).

  • Set- up help should arrive 30 minutes before the Event starting time. Set-up help is a position of service for members. There is a sign-up schedule, and the schedule will be posted on line.

  • A time of prayer will commence every event and meeting.

The Nursery is located on the lower level of the church and is for children under 3.

  • The nursery is a position of service for members, there is sign-up schedule and the schedule will be posted on line.

  • Diaper bags, cups, and snacks should be brought and labeled for each child. Please do not bring snacks or juice boxes that are small children are apt to spill. Please inform nursery staff of any allergies or special concerns.

  • Nursing a baby during an event is encouraged as needed, but please make sure your other children are supervised.

  • No child with an unexplained rash, fever over 100 degrees, vomiting or loose stool in the prior 24 hours or uncontrollable cough will be allowed in the nursery.

Dismissal after an event requires gathering possessions and children and exiting quietly.

  • After dismissal children must remain with parents or be supervised in the gym/multipurpose room.

  • Children not with parents will be directed to the gym. Children may only run in the gym.

  • Clean-up is a position of service for members. There is a sign- up schedule and the schedule will be posted on line.

Reimbursements are made for items approved by a board member.  Write your name and the event you purchased items for on the receipt; circle the total amount to be reimbursed. Turn the receipt in to the Treasurer for prompt reimbursement.

Spectrum Events are open to all child members 10 and up. A calendar of events will be managed by the Spectrum coordinators.

Monthly Night Out also known as MNO is for planning events, gathering sign-ups for events, encouragement and fellowship.

  • MNO's will be hosted in voluntary member's homes or at the Evangelical Free Church of Wauconda and overseen by a Board member.

  • MNO's are open to home school members and nonmembers, and home school adult family members.

  • MNO's will be scheduled durring the first week of each month from September to May. The schedule will be distributed at orientation with directions. It will also be posted on line.

  • MNO's will begin with prayer,food and fellowship, followed by planning or topical discussion.

Outside events and class information can be shared with Rainbow's End members via e-mail, internet post or by contacting the Board member in charge of Web Support. The information can also be shared at events or MNO's.

Summer Park Schedule will be available in May with dates and times of planned gatherings at local parks.

Library resources may be checked out at the monthly MNO for a period of one month.



CODE OF CONDUCT

Behavior: All members will take responsibility for their actions, show respect for authorities, peers, and property.

  • Friendships are to be encouraged as a group. Flirting, public displays of affection, and dating-type relationships at Rainbow's End or Spectrum activities are deemed inappropriate and are grounds for disciplinary action.

  • Language should be God honoring and seek to build people up. Adults should help children by modeling appropriate language. Consistent name calling and purposeful swearing will be grounds for disciplinary action by the Board.

  • Dress should be appropriate for the event, for both adults and children. No bare midriffs . No boxers purposely showing. Wording and images on clothing should be God honoring.

  • Possession of firearms, bladed weapons,tobacco, alcohol or drugs will be reported to the authorities immediately, with the exception of a pocket knife which must be removed from the property immediately, and may result in a report to the authorities.

3 Step Disciplinary Action

  • A Board Member will issue a warning, and prayerfully work with the home schooling parent to reach the desired change in behavior.

  • A Board Member will request the offending person be removed form the current event if the behavior does not improve.

  • In the event of habitual misconduct, apparent for three or more events/ activities, the family will be asked to prayerfully council with the Board, and the Board maintains the authority to revoke enrollment.

Sick children and adults should not attend events or meetings. Sickness is noted but not limited to unexplained rash, fever over 100 degrees in the last 24 hours, vomiting or loose stool in the last 24 hours, uncontrollable cough.

  • Home shool parents that are home sick or home with sick children must keep all their children ages 6 years and under home as well. Children ages 7 years and older may attend if mom stays home only if another adult assumes responsibility for them.

  • In the event you are scheduled to lead an activity and are sick, immediately contact the Board member that is the Event Coordinator.

Business opportunities: The Rainbow’s End is not the forum for adult to adult business ventures.
